A lock of the star's hair, collected by her hairdresser, is to be auctioned off. The starting price is $16,500.
That's what an American website specializing in historical memorabilia of all kinds is offering by putting a price on a lock of Marilyn Monroe's hair. According to TMZ, which spotted the sale, it would be about 35 strands from Kenneth Battelle's collection.
The late hairdresser styled the star's look from 1958 until 1962, when she died at the age of 36. The lock is presented in a specially designed glass frame, accompanied by a framed photo of the star, all dated June 1959. Kenneth Battelle had kept several of his famous client's curls, before giving them away to relatives and friends.
